There must be someway that designers and clients can experience the difficult points of a design process before there is a high stake to derail collaboration for the best solution. Both parties could learn about each other then work for a better solution than if they had not done the Pre-Project Project.
Possible Solution
As a pre-phrase, work a quick prototype personal branding exercise for one of the stake holders. A Personal brand mark development and application to card, letterhead, notes and an email signature could all be included.
